hoarding

I'm working as a TA at my college this summer for the next 5 weeks. That means I'll be busy living & studying with 18 entering freshman while slapping bugs (and bats) and fanning myself (there's no air conditioning in the dorm).

While I packed at home, I convinced myself to use the "simple and versatile" rule I mentioned in my previous post.

This is what happened instead.

From left to right: Chadwick's gold sandals, Brown & black Old Navy flip flops, Nine West thong sandals, random cheapie thong sandals, Wet Seal Balenciaga knock-off wedges from last summer, Wet Seal sneakers, Nike court forces, two pairs of athletic sneakers

Hehe. I tried. I believe the culprits were my sandals because they are so lightweight and easy to slip into empty spaces between clothes. My damage would have been a lot worse if my rain boots didn't turn up missing.

lusting

From top left: Nike, Bebe, Delias, Adidas, Wet Seal

College has changed the way I think about everything, and on the less cliche end of that list, clothing is a biggie. I have a minimal budget, and everything I buy has to serve a dual purpose so I don't waste the money that I can spend. Add that to my struggle to find what is really "my" style, and my relationship with clothes has become really complicated.

If I were a rich girl, I'd have these things in my closet right now, no doubt. The perfect Nike blazers, a pair of black pumps similar to Karla's for clubbing in style, a chic one-piece (actually cheap enough for me to order, can't wait til it comes), JS wings for Adidas for flying high, and a pair of khaki shorts just for a break from all the denim I cut into shorts.

& a picture of Chanel Iman, just because I'm obsessed with her lately. And I hope my hair gets brave enough to grow this long.

bye

In terms of style blogging, please don't expect many more entries from me. I don't have the time to do it the right way (frequently), and secondly I think I'm just too average to have many outfits worth documenting. I'll still be using this account to post comments on blogs though :]
